Adult Milk Powder: The Innovative Benefits of A2+ Milk

Updated: Nov 3, 2022

You may not realise it, but for thousands of years, milk has been integral to the survival of humans. A rich source of nutrition, able to sustain villages during harsh winters or after failed harvests, this liquid gold would pave the way for agriculture, displacing the hunter-gatherer cultures of the previous millennia.

Even today, only 35% of the human population can digest lactose beyond about seven or eight, according to a 2012 article in the International Dairy Journal. While drinking milk isn’t lethal to the lactose intolerant, it is certainly unpleasant. And that’s something we want to address.

We see dairy products through the lens of innovation. Dairy is no longer synonymous with raw milk. It’s about improving our health and wellbeing through a game-changing formula that promises to make your daily dairy intake more nutritious, enjoyable and delicious. Drinking milk as an adult shouldn’t be a roll of the dice in your gut.

Our panel of top scientists, formulators and nutritionists form a brain trust to lead cutting edge dairy research that keeps health and wellness front and centre in the creation of our adult milk supplement. Aiming to answer the question, is milk healthy for adults with a resounding yes. We go far beyond your standard bottle of store-bought A2 milk.

At NATUREDAY, we put the emphasis on Dairy Plus, a winning combination of two patented probiotics that improve gut health and optimise nutrient absorption. It makes NATUREDAY A2+ milk the superior choice in powder milk innovation.

Strangely, humans didn’t always consume milk as they do now. Unlike children, milk was essentially toxic to early adult humans. Lacking the lactase enzyme required to break down lactose, the primary sugar in milk, many were, in fact, lactose intolerant.

It wasn’t until a remarkable genetic mutation spread throughout Europe that more humans developed strong enough stomachs to enjoy the benefits of milk. Unfortunately, the keyword here is ‘more’ and not ‘all’.

Optimised Formula For Ultimate Absorption

Over the years, NATUREDAY scientists have worked hard to discover a solution to the problem of lactose intolerance. We've created an adult milk powder formula that promotes ultimate nutrition absorption by combining high-quality A2 protein from our KiwiCross cows with patented gut environment optimisations. The result is our delicious, NATUREDAY A2+ Probiotics Formulated Full Cream Milk Powder.

NATUREDAY achieve this by increasing the amount of β-casein protein in our A2+ milk.

Approximately one-third of the protein in milk is β-casein, which exists in both A1 and A2 forms. Although these proteins differ by only one amino acid, how they’re digested has a significant impact on intestinal absorption.

When digested, only the A1 β-casein releases β-casomorphin-7(1). A compound that has been linked to the discomfort that some people feel after drinking milk(2). Responsible for abdominal pain, bloating, and flatulence, multiple studies have demonstrated the benefits of drinking A2-only milk, which is closer to human breast milk, making it easier to absorb.

Harnessing all of these together, we created NATUREDAY A2+ probiotics milk powder. This high-efficiency nutritional supplement combines the benefits of A2 milk with double calcium, four vitamins, one mineral and probiotics for ultimate absorption.

Not only is it easier on your stomach, but it's also more nutritious.

Increased Protein Nutrition

Milk is an excellent source of protein and contains Vitamins A, D, B12 and riboflavin and minerals such as calcium, phosphorus, zinc, and iodine. However, we thought we could do better.

Each glass of NATUREDAY A2 + Probiotic milk offers 8.4g of protein, equivalent to 1.4 eggs, 50g of meat or 420g of spinach. This high protein content is made possible by our KiwiCross cows. Decedents of noble Jersey and Holstein-Friesian breed, these are some of the most premium cattle in New Zealand.

Each A2 cow is 100% genetically verified to produce only A2 beta-casein. Proudly offering a quality product you can trust, only 1 in 8 cows receive the NATUREDAY seal of approval.

Optimised Gut Health With Dual Probiotics

One of the main reasons we focus so heavily on being Dairy Plus is that NATUREDAY uses two patented, pharmaceutical-grade probiotic strains from the world’s leading supplier, DuPont. Clinically proven to improve gut health, the winning combination of HOWARU Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM + Bifidobacterium HN019 helps deliver healthy digestion and natural immunity.

It’s the 1.7 billion probiotics in every single glass that make NATUREDAY Full Cream Milk Powder truly A2+.

Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM

The most well-researched probiotic strain in the acidophilus species, Lactobacillus acidophilus NCFM is known to improve abdominal pain and bloating in people with irritable bowel syndrome(3). It’s also been linked with enhancing immune responses, preventing or treating infection, lowering serum cholesterol, improving lactose metabolism, and increasing the absorption of calcium and vitamins B12 and folate(4).

This probiotic has been available in dairy products since the 1970s, and its safety has been confirmed in more than 330 scientific studies, including more than 60 human trials.(3)

Bifidobacterium lactis HN019

Featured in more than 100 scientific studies, Bifidobacterium lactis HN019 has been used to treat gastrointestinal symptoms(5, 6). A gold-standard review in 2017 identified four clinical trials demonstrating that B. lactis HN019 enhanced cellular immune function in healthy elderly adults(7). Scientists are currently investigating its role in maintaining intestinal barrier function during infections, potentially resulting in less diarrhoea(8).

When the two strains of pharmaceutical-grade probiotics work together, the combination can effectively enhance your digestion and absorption of nutrients, including dairy protein and vitamin and mineral elements.

Boost Adult Immunity

Here’s a fun fact: The human gut is home to approximately 100 trillion microorganisms(9). Known as a microbiome, the mixture of microorganisms perform critical functions like fermenting dietary fibre, producing vitamins and helping to absorb minerals like calcium and iron by releasing enzymes.(10)

Capable of influencing immune function, metabolism, appetite, obesity, and even how people think and behave(9) studies have shown that a low level of diversity in the gut microbiome is seen in diseases like inflammatory bowel disease and some forms of arthritis, diabetes, eczema and obesity.

Primarily determined by diet and other environmental factors, an extensive review of hundreds of trials found that probiotic supplementation provides people with a wide range of health benefits.(9)

In response, we’ve designed the patented blend in A2+ milk to optimise the gut’s microenvironment to improve nutrient absorption. Alongside the 1.7 billion Dairy Plus probiotics, higher nutrition levels across various immunity and health-boosting categories.

  • Our free-grazing KiwiCross cows are proven to have higher levels of CLA, which can improve immunity and bone health.

  • NATUREDAY A2+ milk has higher levels of Vitamin E and C, which help to eliminate free radicals and enhance immunity.

  • Added Magnesium helps maintain normal nerve and muscle function, supports a healthy immune system and helps bones remain strong. It also helps adjust blood glucose levels and aids in the production of energy and protein.

Offering 72% of an Adult’s Calcium Needs

Calcium is an essential mineral needed for developing strong bones and healthy teeth.(11) And although mainstream milk is a benchmark in calcium nutrition, it’s not exactly easy to meet our recommended daily intake (RDI) of calcium with just a glass of milk every day.

In New Zealand, the average daily calcium intake is only 807 mg. Whereas in many Asian countries, the daily intake is less than 500 mg.(12) For perspective, the RDI for men aged 19-70 and women aged 19-50 is 1000 mg per day, while men +70 and women +50 need 1,300 mg per day.

Each glass of NATUREDAY A2 + Probiotic milk offers 72% of the calcium an adult needs each day. Using natural calcium lactate, A2+ milk powder strengthens bones and teeth to help bone growth and prevent bone loss. And to ensure your body absorbs every bit of calcium, we use Vitamin D3 and Vitamin A.

Providing superior nutrition with better absorption and health benefits to the whole family, NATUREDAY A2+ milk. Containing two patented probiotics that improve gut health and optimise nutrient absorption, NATUREDAY A2+ milk is derived from genetically verified New Zealand cows that only produce A2 β-casein.

Plus, each glass of A2+ milk contains 8.4g of protein (equal to 1.4 eggs), double the calcium of standard A2 milk, and the vitamins A, C, D and E.
